Jon Friedman of The Rejection Show asked me to write a piece for his book entitled "Rejected" (Random House/Villard). Jon and I share something in common: our interest in looking at humor that's been to the chopping block (and in some cases returning with its head still intact). Jon's monthly NYC fixture called The Rejection Show features rejected material from writers, comedians, cartoonists, filmmakers, TV personalities and other artists.
His show has a huge following and if you haven't already heard of it,

The book is a compilation of material based on the show.

Jon contacted me to write the piece when he heard I had curated and hosted an exhibit called "Cartoon Limbo" which featured cartoons, comic art, rejection notes, correspondence, and printed matter related to the universal experience of cartoons in limbo, or "somewhere between the drawing board and the printed page," as the invitation to the January 2007 exhibit read.
I'm pretty excited to be included in his book and I'll be appearing at "The Rejection Show" later this year to talk about Cartoon Limbo.
